Just when we’re getting used to seeing our favorite stars in frilly and frothy Spring 2011 looks, they’re already breaking out their Pre-Fall picks! We realize that the fashion industry moves at lightening speed, but NYC hasn’t even thawed out from its epically long and snowy winter, much less is prepared for next fall! But even though we don’t want to rush through the seasons – after all, we’re still anticipating Spring and Summer 2011 – we have to admit that some of the Pre-Fall 2011 looks have been pretty fabulous. And at the premiere of her new movie, “Unknown” in Los Angeles on February 16th, “Mad Men” star January Jones positively sparkled in her Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2011 tea-length gown. Read on for event photos – and learn how to make a similar look work for you!
For starters, let’s take a moment to drool over the luxe color palate of this McQueen creation. Navy comes back every fall, but this particular pairing with glittering gold fabric and military-inspired buttons has us swooning. If you’re dying over this navy and gold combo like we are, there’s no need to wait for fall to try it out! Remember that navy and gold can also be totally appropriate in the spring and summer as part of a beachy, nautical wardrobe.
We also love the way January accessorized her gorgeous gown. The gold accents provided all the bling she needed, so she went completely sans jewelry! The young starlet didn’t even opt for a simple pair of earrings, and we think the look is completely sophisticated and pretty. The next time you reach for your favorite embellished piece, remember that piling on too many accessories will compete with your fashion! Keep it simple, like January.
The pretty blonde also chose a pair of quadruple-stacked Christian Louboutin black leather platforms to complete her ensemble. And although we think they look impossible to walk in, the extra inches they provide really help January pull off this bold look. What do you think?
