We’re beyond thrilled to see Jennifer Garner back on the red carpet. She’s always been one of our favorite stylish celebrities – not to mention a super talented actress, comedienne, and a devoted wife and mother. It’s no secret that Jen loves being a family woman – she and husband Ben Affleck spend every moment of free time with their two adorable daughters, Violet and Seraphina – so it’s a treat to see her step back into the limelight. And with Jen starring in the remake of 1981’s hilarious Arthur (hitting theatres in April) she’s finally making a few red carpet rounds.
At the New York City premiere on April 5th, she hit the red carpet outside iconic Ziegfeld Theatre in a cozy black and gray ensemble from Oscar de la Renta’s Pre-Fall 2011 collection. Even though it’s still April, we’re already digging this look once the weather gets cold next year. Keep reading for a few event photos, and learn how to achieve a similar look.

Who says movie premieres always call for ball gowns? Jen managed to turn up the glamour (and remain comfortable and warm!) in a cashmere sweater and embroidered silk pencil skirt. She looked totally effortless in an outfit that any girl could wear, which is why this look is a great source for inspiration, no matter what your body type.

For starters, we’re loving the flattering cut of Jen’s top. The boat neck sweater is a universally flattering way to call attention to her pretty face, and the three-quarter sleeves kept the NYC evening chill at bay without adding bulk. This coming fall, look for similar cuts in bright pops of color like deep blues, purples and greens to top your favorite jeans or work pants.
Jen’s embroidered skirt is luxe, but similar ones will soon be popping up in your local mall. Lace will continue to be a huge trend well into next year, so look for pieces with black lace overlays for a star-worthy ensemble. Jen’s triple stacked Casadei pumps completed her look to perfection
