Kate Winslet looked dazzling on the red carpet at the recent Venice Film Festival
Kate Winslet is back in the limelight after a dreadful experience on Necker Island last month. Winslet was one of twenty guests staying at the eight bedroom vacation home of Sir Richard Branson late last month. When the house caught fire after being struck by lightning during Hurricane Irene, Winslet displayed a heroic spirit when she helped carry the billionaire tycoon’s 90-year old mother to safety.
Yesterday, the actress was at the Venice Film Festival for the premiere of Carnage. The film was directed by Roman Polanski, who is currently in self-imposed exile from America after charges of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor. Winslet flaunted a daring taupe Victoria Beckham-designed frock with a full-length zipper. She paired the body-hugging dress with a pair of trendy heeled sandals with matching glittery straps. With a classic hairstyle and chic accessories to complete her dazzling style, Miss Kate sizzles on the red carpet.
The Titanic star spoke of the experience on Necker Island. She said: “I feel extremely fortunate to have been with the Branson family who coped with it incredibly well, I have never known such a group of extraordinarily stoic people and am very very grateful to be alive and to be here.”
These days, Kate is busy supporting Polanski and their most recent project. She defended her decision to appear in Carnage, stating: “When Roman Polanski invites you to join him in any project you really don’t say no.” She added, “We were working with the great Roman Polanski. We are only human beings and we are still perfectly capable of being terrified, whoever we are.”
