Since 1995, the Empire Awards have celebrated the very best in British actors and film. And with so many amazing talents hopping the Pond to work in the US, the night has become a mini Oscar night celebration. This year was no exception, and some of our favorite stylish Hollywood A-listers arrived in their best looks yet.
The show, which was sponsored this year by Jameson (and subsequently dubbed the Jameson Empire Awards) took place at the super glamorous Grosvenor House Hotel in London, and the stars knew they had to dress to impress. Keira Knightley, who took home the Empire Hero Award at the March 27th affair, was our hands-down pick for best dressed of the night. She wore a stunning sparkly frock from the stylish Rodarte Ready to Wear Fall 2011 collection, so keep reading for photos – and to discover which features of the dress sent Keira’s look over the top.

We’ve been pretty impressed with Keira’s red carpet choices lately, since she seems to opt strictly for Chanel or Rodarte. Her laid-back, bohemian vibe can sometimes look careless and sloppy in photos – even if she is wearing couture. But this time, Keira found the perfect balance between her own personal style and an award-winning look. Her Rodarte creation featured more than one huge trend – a nude color and shoulder cutouts – but we’re loving the two together. The soft beige color of the frock allows the sparkles and cutout features to take center stage without becoming fashion overkill. Remember to keep your look neutral if you’re planning to try more than one bold statement or silhouette, like Keira did with this look.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star only needed a pair of simple black satin pumps and an impeccable hair and makeup job to complete her ensemble. Because of her dress’s embellishments, she didn’t need any jewelry. We love this look on Keira – and encourage you to try a similar one for your next date or dinner party! What do you think?
