Kim Kardashian People magazine cover
By now, we’re sure you’ve heard the news about Kim Kardashian’s whirlwind romance and engagement to NBA star Kris Humphries. After the news officially broke on Wednesday, May 24th via a glittery People Magazine cover story, the word spread like wildfire globally. And even though we’re slightly ashamed to admit this, we couldn’t be happier for Kim. We’ve followed her guilty pleasure reality shows from their inception, and feel like we’ve been with her through every heart-wrenching breakup. And while we’re rightfully skeptical about the staying power of the upcoming marriage (the pair have only been exclusively dating for six months,) we admit we ran out, bought the issue of People, and voraciously devoured the story.

For serious fashionistas, the obvious hook is Kim’s gigantic 20-plus carat, emerald cut engagement rock, followed by her adorable pale pink frock and matching manicure. Keep reading for photos of Kim’s cover ensemble – and while we can’t guarantee you a jaw-dropping diamond, we can do our best to help you achieve a similar fashion look.

We adored Kim’s cover look from head to toe, especially because she opted for pale pink instead of her usual black or dark jewel tones. As much as we love her in dark hues, it’s always fun to see a star change her signature look, and pull it off with ease. Since Kim’s obviously over-the-moon thrilled about the love in her life and her upcoming wedding, we’re sure she’s feeling more confident and adventurous in the fashion department, as well. And besides, who wants to put on another black dress when it’s time to celebrate with family and friends? The ballet pink hue is endlessly flattering to Kim’s bronzed skin and raven locks, and the cut is impeccable, to boot!
Kim’s clearly ready to flaunt her femininity (and maybe prepare for little ones) because her cover dress hugs every curve in the right place. If you’re curvy like Kim, look for dresses with an overlapping deep v-neckline and demure cap sleeves to balance a super tight, body-clinging silhouette. Stick with these simple fashion rules and you’ll be channeling your inner Kardashian all summer – no giant diamond required.
