It’s no secret that “Sex and the City” star Kristin Davis is crazy about our four-legged, furry counterparts. During her free time since the whirlwind promotional tour for “Sex and the City 2” in the summer of 2010, the seemingly ageless brunette has spent months in Africa caring for orphaned elephants and donating her time to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. Kristin even made an “Oprah” appearance to raise awareness of wildlife preservation and the dangers of poaching. Because she’s been such an outspoken animal rights advocate, we were thrilled to hear she took home the prestigious Wyler Award at the annual Genesis Awards, hosted by the Humane Society.
This year, the anticipated event was held on Saturday, March 19th at the glitzy and glamorous Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles, and Kristin’s ensemble certainly fit the bill for such a big night. She wore a hot pink Oscar de la Renta dress, and we’re totally smitten with her feminine, romantic look. Despite all rain and unseasonably dreary weather in L.A. recently, Kristin’s pop of pink was just the medicine we needed to shake off the last of our winter blues. Not to mention, bright pink will always look fresh and unexpected in a sea of black and neutral dresses on the red carpet. This spring, look for similar shades in everything from a new statement handbag to your new favorite evening dress – and you’ll be channeling Charlotte Style well into the summer.
Not surprisingly, we also adored the way Kristin chose to accessorize her girlish frock. Her famous locks graced her shoulders in glossy waves, and her pink cheek and lip colors were the perfect makeup look for the dress. Since the color of her Oscar de la Renta frock was so vibrant, she didn’t need any jewelry – and her simple and chic black clutch and strappy stilettos were the perfect way to ground such a bright look.
What do you think of Kristin’s Chatlotte-esque ensemble? Are you brave enough to wear such a bright hue of pink?
