We know that most stars want to look good all the time. After all, it’s the worst photos that often make it to the front page of the tabloids. (The paparazzi just love snapping shots of celebs without makeup wearing scrubby clothes, even if it’s a simple trip to the gym.) But there are some events at which stars hope to look their very, very best. One of these events just took place: the Vogue Met Costume Institute Gala. This event is held in one of the chicest locations (The Metropolitan Museum of Art), in one of the most stylish cities (The Big Apple), by one of the most fashion forward publications…Vogue!

One of our favorite looks of the evening was worn by Livia Firth, wife of heart throb actor Colin Firth. We’ve reported in the past about how Mrs. Firth has regularly appeared looking regal, chic, and at the height of fashion wearing garments made from environmentally responsible materials. Her outfit for the night of the Met Costume Institute Gala can be counted in a long line of these fashion successes for Mrs. Firth. The beautiful lady wore a champagne colored jumpsuit by Stella McCartney (who is known for her eco-friendly garments) that was made simply royal with a wrap-around skirt in the same color.

Livia wore her hair in a high, shining up do and accessorized with deep red lipstick, dangling emerald earrings, and a handbag that matched her jumpsuit and skirt. For shoes, she tapped into a trend that we’ve recently reported on. She wore shoes that were the exact same deep, lustrous green as her earrings. Dyed to match? We’re not sure, but we are sure that we are loving this trend of perfectly matching pumps! And, of course, we’re sure that we love Livia!
