Many women in the limelight spend hours, days, even weeks deciding which glittering jewels and gowns they will wear to red carpet events. But Mila Kunis spent more time being treated with precious stones than choosing them. That’s right, Ms. Kunis spent a whopping $7,000 on a facial in preparation for the Golden Globes. This facial included treatments that used both diamonds and rubies as primary ingredients. The treatment, known as “the HD Diamond and Ruby Peel” is still in the testing phases and is not yet available to the general public. However, for superstars like Mila Kunis, it is possible to offer oneself up as a guinea pig while also enjoying the benefits of state of the art treatments.
The person administering the facial was Scott-Vincent Borba. The beauty master has been quoted as saying that the treatment was not just applied to Ms. Kunis’s face, but also to a number of other body parts that are exposed or featured by the dress that she wore to the Golden Globes. This means that in addition to her face, the HD Diamond and Ruby Peel was applied to her neck, arms, and the back of her hands. it was also administered to her decolletage, which is the area of skin on the chest that is exposed by dresses with low necklines.
So how exactly does this process work? According to reports on the HD Diamond and Ruby Peel, the rubies act as antioxidants. (While anti-oxidant rich pomegranates and cranberries may be as rich in color as rubies are, they are certainly more affordable as beauty product ingredients.) The diamonds are used to improve the luster of the skin and to improve its overall tone. So what was the result? Stunning, of course. Ms. Kunis positively glowed, gleamed, and shimmered. Her gemstone-treated skin was beautifully offset by a gorgeous emerald gown.
