Only in Paris: Nicole Scherzinger in Racy Lace

We normally don’t applaud former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger for her chic and sophisticated fashion choices. In fact, she’s a notorious worst dressed list maker thanks to her seemingly endless stream of garish, tasteless, barely-there getups. Whether on stage or shopping on Rodeo Drive, Nicole usually nails strip club style with ease. But we’re revoking our previous judgment on the raven-haired singer/dancer, because she’s been surprising us the past several days in Paris.

Nicole’s gracing the City of Lights to promote her new solo single, “Don’t Hold Your Breath,” and all that pavement pounding is apparently paying off. The catchy song is already sitting pretty at number one on the iTunes chart! But Nicole was even prettier on Friday, March 18th, when she hit the Paris streets in a gorgeous dove gray minidress that left us with a fierce case of fashion envy. Keep reading to discover why this time, Nicole’s actually making our best-dressed list.

Let’s start at the bottom with Nicole’s seriously hot nude platforms. They’re just a bit too high for our style, but the flesh-toned hue makes the star’s legs go on for days. We’re constantly encouraging you to find your perfect shade of nude, and it looks like Nicole’s taken our advice! Remember that a soft neutral pump is a wardrobe staple – and no, yours don’t need to have a six-inch stiletto.

We admit that the hemline on Nicole’s high-concept couture mini-dress could stand to come down several inches, but we’re willing to concede the borderline X-rated length because she had the good fashion sense to cover up on top. The modest scoop neck and three-quarter length sleeves keep the frock from veering into dangerously scandalous territory – and the cut is actually quite flattering thanks to plenty of rouching. Remember to balance a skin-bearing look with demure pieces elsewhere on your ensemble, like Nicole did here. We are digging dove gray for Spring 2011 – so find your perfect shade, and wear it with confidence!
