Princess Charlene at the 63rd Annual Red Cross Ball Gala
Just because her July 2nd wedding was largely overshadowed by that other Royal event that happened back in April, doesn’t mean Princess Charlene of Monaco doesn’t love fashion just as much as her brunette counterpart in London. In fact, she legally tied the knot in an amazing, custom designed Chanel suit on the eve of her big wedding bash, and opted for a stunning, couture Armani Prive satin confection with a 16-foot train for the wedding day itself. The former Olympic swimmer even had a high-fashion wardrobe change for her reception and dinner party, slipping into a flouncy, tiered boat neck white gown – also courtesy of Armani Prive – to dance and party well into the morning hours.
Now that the newlyweds are back to performing their Royal duties at home in Monaco, we’re thrilled to have another princess to keep our eyes on. Most recently, we spotted Charlene pulling Royal hosting duty at the 63rd Annual Red Cross Ball Gala in Monte Carlo, and it looks like marriage agrees with the beautiful blonde, because she looked absolutely stunning. Since the party was held at their home, it was important that Charlene look like the quintessential put-together host – and she pulled off the look beautifully in a strapless, fishtail-train gown by Akris in a saturated deep pink hue. Charlene’s lean, athletic figure makes it easy for her to wear bold, outrageous colors and daring cuts, and her hard-earned shape will look amazing in just about anything. But we think her shimmering, cinched-waist silhouette was particularly gorgeous on her body – and the jewel tone is total perfection on her bronzed skin.
More than the dress though, we’re drooling over the extravagant wedding gift she received from her doting new hubby – a one-of-a-kind, custom made diamond and sapphire necklace (that allegedly doubles as a tiara!) by Royal jeweler Van Cleef & Arpels. The sparkly piece boasts 1,200 stones and is called the Ocean necklace, after Charlene’s love of swimming and the sea. Swoon.
