Rachael Ray at the 38th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards
Long gone are the days when the only female chef on television was Julia Child, who could make a mean roast chicken, but might not fare so well on the glossy pages of male interest glossy magazine FHM. These days, we have the likes (and hotness) of Giada De Laurentiis, Sandra Lee and Rachael Ray gracing our screens each day, and it’s getting more and more difficult to focus on the food! In fact, these women are not only wiz kids in the kitchen, but with their hair, makeup and wardrobes, too! And at the 38th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, held in Las Vegas on Sunday, June 19th, our pick for best dressed wasn’t a glamorous soap star or a serious and chic news anchor – but the veritable Queen of the Casserole, Rachael Ray! The gorgeous brunette arrived wearing an amazingly flattering, black and blue chevron striped gown with a down-to-there, cleavage-bearing neckline that made everyone forget about pasta and burgers for a few moments.
We loved every detail of Rachael’s daring look, right down to her hair and makeup. She accessorized perfectly, adding only a few simple necklaces, a pair of pretty stud earrings and an elegant black envelope clutch to her ensemble. When your dress is as bold as Rachael’s, it’s always smart to keep accessories simple and understated, and allow your fashion piece de resistance to shine. Rachael did a great job of keeping things simple and chic.
Since she’s on the petite side, Rachael’s dress was a perfect pick to help elongate her frame. If you have a similar figure to the TV chef, look for flattering stripes and colors that help you appear long and lean, like the bold graphic chevron print on Rachael’s frock.
To complete her look, Rachael kept her gorgeous locks glossy and simple, and added drama to her eyes with a vibrant blue liner that matched her dress.
