We can’t get enough Reese Witherspoon around here. In fact, she may be one of our favorite fashionable stars, thanks to her timeless classic style, and knack for pulling off basic color palates with creativity and flare. And the 83rd Annual Academy Awards on February 27th were no exception. One of the night’s most stylish presenters, Reese hit the red carpet in basic black and white – and just when we thought that color palate was boring and tired, Reese proved us wrong. The starlet looked fabulous and totally fresh in a black and white Giorgio Armani Privé strapless gown – and nailed her look head to toe with perfect hair, makeup and accessories. Before we drool over her bouncy ponytail and sparkling Neil Lane jewels, we need to discuss Reese’s perfect gown. The Armani creation was classic Hollywood, featuring a tiny train and stark white band around the strapless neckline. This look speaks volumes with its simplicity, and calls for no other colors or embellishments. Reese often chooses elegant styles that are universally flattering for her biggest nights. Take a cue from Reese here and remember that sometimes, the most basic silhouettes are the most flattering and appropriate. It’s no wonder why the “Legally Blonde” star often winds up on best-dressed lists across the globe!
Reese’s hair and makeup topped our list of Oscar favorites this year, as well. We adored her retro, voluptuous ponytail and liquid-lined eyes. Her rosy glow and pink lip might be the result of a fantastic makeup artist – or maybe it was her natural relief showing through. After all, the actress already has her Best Actress statue safely on her shelf at home, after taking home the award for her portrayal of June Carter in 2005’s “Walk the Line.” The pressure was off for this Oscar winner – and she’s never looked better!
