Zoe Saldana has been on our fashion radar since her explosive Avatar-fueled arrival onto the A-list. She isn’t afraid to take a fashion risk on the red carpet – and her choices often land her on best-dressed lists from NYC to LA. Recently, we’ve spotted her restyling basic pieces into fabulous Hollywood-worthy looks, and at the March 7th celebration of Michael Kors’ boutique opening on Rue Saint Honore, Zoe wowed us again. She arrived at the party, held at the US Ambassador’s Residence in Paris, in head-to-toe Michael Kors (naturally), but she didn’t opt for a typical party dress. We normally reserve our crisp white shirts and structured black trousers for the office, but Zoe’s look here, straight off the Michael Kors Fall 2011 runway, has us reconsidering where we don our workday staples. This simple pairing is chic, sophisticated and super sexy – and we’re excited to steal some of Zoe’s best style tips to transform our boring office-appropriate wardrobe.
The reason why this look works for a night out is because Zoe’s styles her office basics much differently for a night out than she would for the workday. Take a closer look at her white shirt – it’s not structured cotton, but a supple, shimmery satin. And she’s left the front open to reveal plenty of skin for nighttime. Her slouchy sleeves lend a bedroom quality to her look that just wouldn’t work for daytime.
Zoe’s black pants are made from a sexy crepe jersey material, and feature crystal embroidery – and the tapered, cropped style allows her Christian Louboutin ankle strap platforms to take center stage. Even though these look like basic pieces, Zoe opted for very minimal embellishment, and wore her flawless skin and Hollywood smile as her greatest accessories for the night.
