Lupe Fiasco’s New Design For Converse

Time for some music, peeps!

You might recognize the song “Paris, Tokyo” by Lupe Fiasco.  The chillin’ beat and smooth rap will catch you and get you moving.  But you might not recognize this mix until the second bar of the song.  Listen carefully.

See if a rap song is can be turned into old skool jazz like something out of a classic Woody Allen movie, then we’ll say it’s a real Grammy material.  And “Paris, Tokyo” is one of the 4 nominations in the 2009 Grammy Awards for Lupe Fiasco, in the Best Rap Solo Performance category.

But the Chicago-based rapper isn’t stopping at that.  Lupe Fiasco’s creative juices keep flowing and back in October 2008, he collaborated with urban clothing designer, Dr. Romanelli and came up with a cool fashion sneaker design for Converse Chuck Taylor Lows. The celebrity designer made sure that the sneaker is included in PRODUCT (RED) humanitarian efforts.  Here’s how they look like.

The new hi-top sneaker is called 100 Supplementaire, and it features Lupe’s political opinions in a newspaper-style fonts all over the canvas.  We like the boldnes and we’ll keep our eyes and ears open to let you know when these awesome sneaks will be available.
