As if her death wasn’t tragic enough, now TWO of Amy Winehouse’s dresses worth about $208,000 have been stolen from the house she died in. The dresses were supposed to be auctioned to raise funds for the Amy Winehouse Foundation.

Just how special were the dresses?

The wedding dress was worn by Winehouse when she and husband Blake Fielder exchanged vows in Miami back in 2006, while the other one she wore on Jools Holland’s BBC music show, also in 2006. The unique newsprint cocktail dress made quite an impression among her fans.

Mitch Winehouse, Amy’s father said the robbery is a blow.

“The house in Camden is being sold so all of her possessions have been tagged, numbered and logged in preparation of storage. There was a window of about two days while that process was underway when the dresses could have been taken. A few people were involved and there was some coming and going. We’re going through everything else to see what else, if anything, has been lifted. We are all baffled as to why some of her designer dresses didn’t go too. There were a couple from Dolce & Gabbana worth a fortune. Her wedding dress was only a little cotton thing, a hundred quid at best in the shops. Whoever nicked it realised its significance and knew it had an extra value. It’s sickening that someone would steal something in the knowledge of its sentimental value.”

Very sad.
