Long gone are her Wizards of Waverly Place days, as Selena Gomez climbs the stairs of celebhood slowly but steadily. Her love life with pop icon Justin Bieber does not even shadow her other achievements in life, like her band The Scene, her film Spring Breakers, and many more.

She’s now one of the most recognizable faces splashed across magazine pages. When Glamour announced the 2012 Women of the Year, it was no surprise that Selena was on the list. The young star wows her fans on the cover of Glamour where she wears a champagne silk gown reminiscent of classic Hollywood.

Behind the beautiful face and glamorous life, Selena also has a huge heart. She’s known to be the youngest-ever US UNICEF Ambassador, visiting Ghana on behalf of the UN and taking part in the Global Poverty Project’s “Live Below The Line.” She even spent a week living with only $1.50 a day.

Selena isn’t the sole star of Glamour‘s  tribute to beauty. The U.S. Women’s gymnastics team, which won gold medal at the Olympics, also received the award, along with photographer Annie Liebowitz, and many more.
