There are very few prints that say “pizzazz,” that say “fashion statement,” like leopard print. There’s a sense of danger in the blacks, the golds, and the spots that make up this pattern. And the women who wear leopard print, well, they are looking for a touch of the wild, at least when it comes to their wardrobes. Sarah Palin recently attended an event wearing some very dangerous leopard print heels. They were leopard print. They were strappy. They were peep-toe. And the heels themselves can best be described as dagger-like.
It was at the Long Island Association annual meeting where Sarah arrived in these saucy pumps. From the knees up, Sarah was all business. She wore a simple black suit with three-quarter length sleeves and her signature spectacles. The stars and stripes cuff bracelet that she wore on her right wrist was an unfortunate addition to an otherwise chic outfit. But from the knees down, Sarah was a feisty fashionista.
While the former governor of Alaska is most commonly making waves with her speeches and her politics, these leopard pumps are getting her a good bit of attention. The photos of Sarah’s shoes were snapped by a photographer for Business Insider but they’ve been reposted and written about all over including web publications such as The Huffington Post. The maker of the shoes was recently identified as Taryn Rose, a designer who is known for making stylish, but wearable heels.
Sarah is not, of course, the first woman in politics to wear leopard print. In fact, two of the most fashion-forward first ladies beat her to the leopard print punch. Jackie O wore a killer leopard print coat. Decades later, Michelle Obama has worn leopard print on a number of occasions and in a variety of colorful ways.
