It may be freezing throughout most of the country, but Gwyneth Paltrow managed to heat up the red carpet in a white-hot look at the Los Angeles premiere of her new flick, Country Strong on December 14. The actress chose a risqué milio Pucci design that has the entire fashion industry buzzing – and proved once and for all that, if done correctly, white is just as chic in December as it is in July. But it wasn’t just the pristine hue that had everyone’s heads turning. In fact, Mrs. Chris Martin took the cut out trend to a whole new level with her gown’s borderline R-rated silhouette. Take a look at the premiere photos and decide for yourself – did Gwyneth nail the look? Or should she have covered up?

In the highly anticipated romantic drama, Paltrow portrays fallen country star Kelly Canter – and reportedly had to gain 20 pounds for the role. In early reviews, all that pigging out must have paid off, because our favorite boho-chic Hollywood mom is already garnering Oscar buzz for her spot-on performance. Fortunately for her figure, Gwyneth was able to drop the weight easily thanks to strict diet and exercise – and apparently because she had the particularly unforgiving goal of her super-slinky premiere dress in mind!
From the front, the Pucci creation is a stark white, loose-fitting long-sleeved sheath – but the dress’s profile is where things get interesting. The gown actually has criss-cross stitching – and little else – from the back to the floor! Aside from revealing the TMI fact that Ms. Paltrow decided to go commando on her big night, the design also highlights her amazing body.
The other surprising fact about the gown is that, although it bears the Pucci label, it’s lacking any of the design house’s signature psychedelic colors or shapes. We’re actually loving a little deviation from the Pucci norm – and think they should do more solid colors in the future. As for Gwyeth, we think she looks flawless. And besides, a little booty-flash never hurt anyone…
