American Idol Season Finale at Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles
If you thought American Idol would crash and burn after Simon Cowell and Paul Abdul jumped ship, you certainly weren’t alone. This season’s new team of judges, including Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez, while star-studded, felt like a random mashup of music industry heavy hitters, and seemed unlikely to strike a chord with an Idol audience. We admit we were pleasantly surprised with the chemistry on the judges’ panel, and were relieved to finally get the nastiness of Simon’s caustic comments out of the audition room.
J. Lo was a perfect pick for the show, and we’re ashamed we ever doubted her ability to shine on American Idol. In addition to her spot-on constructive criticism of contestants, she also gave us fashionistas a style show each week, turning the Idol stage into her own personal runway. After a smash hit season, we couldn’t wait to see what the style mogul might wear to the highly anticipated finale – and boy, did she deliver. J. Lo arrived on the American Idol finale red carpet on Wednesday, May 25th, in a stunning, nude Michael Kors jumpsuit and seriously fierce Gucci sandals.
