However, leather dresses can be intimidating when mismatched with shoes or accessories. No wonder Nicole Richie softened her look by sporting simple footwear and accessories to emphasize her bright-colored leather frock.

Putting her best fashion foot forward, the gorgeous star was spotted wearing a bold yellow-orange leather dress as she stepped out to appear on Extra at The Grove on Friday. The bright-hued frock matched with her flawless complexion and unique beauty. The short cut of the dress flaunted her trim legs and slim figure.

Nicole managed to highlight the mini dress in style. The lovely fashion designer paired the daring attire with a blood orange vintage belt and a pair of contrasting peep toe blue heels. To achieve a well-coordinated ensemble, she chose to wear simple accessories and kept her shoulder-length tresses unfussy. She upped the glamour by accessorizing with her own House of Harlow creations: a black pyramid cuff, a cocktail ring, and an arrow ring. The eye-catching fashionista finished off the look with a slash of bright red lipstick.

The 30-year-old beauty was promoting her new NBC fashion competition show which airs on Tuesday night. The mother-of-two was accompanied with designer John Varvatos as the pair are working on the show together. The former reality star will act as a mentor to aspiring designers who are hoping to hit big time by appearing on the show. The show, Fashion Star, debuts on NBC on Tuesday, March 13 at 9.30pm.
