Sean John NY Fashion Week
After a five year hiatus, Sean John returned to New York Fashion Week with his show on Friday February 8. It was the next to last show of Fashion Week, coming right before Marc Jacobs’. Diddy stated that “To be one of the stars of Fashion Week… we’re considered headliners. So we’re up there with the same respect level on the show side with a Ralph Lauren, a Calvin Klein, a Marc Jacobs…” The show also marked the tenth anniversary of the line. The theme of the show was “The Story of a King.”

The designs consisted mostly of suits in deep hues and neutrals with very interesting cuts and fur accents which were nice to look at but for the real world… not so sure. There were no jeans or street/casual wear to be found.

The show ended with Diddy walking down the runway with Tyson Beckford to Lupe Fiasco’s “Superstar”, despite rumors of a feud between the two.
Another important note: the Sean John show featured the first all black model cast in New York Fashion Week history. Do you think after ten years Diddy’s clothing line has become as prominent in the fashion world as Marc Jacobs and Ralph Lauren?
