No wonder she’s been vacationing like crazy! Rihanna’s second fragrance, Rebelle, is reportedly the fastest-selling celebrity perfume in UK history. Since its release back in February, Rebelle has sold over 2 million bottles, and get this: people are not tired yet of smelling like RiRi that the numbers are expected to hit 4 million by the end of 2012.
About the fragrance, Rihanna commented:
My new fragrance is about taking control but still being a lady. There’s a feminine, romantic element to the fragrance – but there’s also a defiant quality in it. I love its duality.
Compared to its rivals (other celebrity perfumes by Victoria Beckham, Britney Spears, and Beyonce), Rebelle is selling like hotcakes and fast. We think it’s got something to do with its successful attempt to capture the warmth of the Carribbean sun, which reflects Rihanna’s roots of Barbados and also her current dynamic life. In fragrance talk, the scent contains strawberries, plums, ginger, cacao absolute, vanilla orchid, and heliotrope.
The ad for Rebelle was shot by Anthony Mandler, Rihanna’s favorite video director.
