Taylor Swift has captured our fashionable hearts ever since she burst onto the country music scene in an explosion of glitter and devastatingly catchy guitar hooks. Not only is her music PG-rated for the under 13 set, it’s also totally relatable for people of all ages, which might explain her countless awards and accolades among country and mainstream music critics alike. As much as we love to sing along with Tay when she’s on the radio, we have to admit we always notice her fashion choices before her music.
The young songbird has managed to strike the perfect balance between sexiness and age-appropriateness, always with a splash of sparkle. From her beautiful curly locks down to her oft-bedazzled pumps, we’re head over heels for Ms. Swift’s wardrobe! And at the November 30 taping of the Country Music Television Artist of the Year Awards in Nashville, TN, our favorite country crooner took her signature sparkly style to a whole new level. Taylor chose a short, lacy Jenny Packham minidress with elbow-length sleeves in a moody jet-black. We’re so used to seeing her in fluffy pastels and creamy ivory hues, that the black was almost a shock to our systems – albeit a pleasant shock. Of course, Taylor looked stunning and complimented her LBD with black ruffle pumps and an uber-chic side-slung chignon.
